Intentional Dissonance

In this silent street, as the night approaches
Moon shivers in a pool of water
Through the broken parts of sky, clouds escape
And she seems as distant as galaxy's edge

Wife waiting for her drunkard husband to come home
The unemployed youth dragging himself to his adobe
Tired shopkeepers closing their shops
And my existence lost in her memory

Thousand morbid realities clash with each other
The moon ashamed, disappears in darkness
As dark clouds cover the eyes of the sky
All that remains between me and you, intentional dissonance

Days Go By

The empty old classroom now signifies nothing
Which once sheltered mighty teenage ambitions
As the memories of years rust in silence
Days go by unmindful to its emotions

But look closer, you may find
Furtive glances of secret admirers bouncing on floors
Vacant tables playing dumb charades of hindi movies
And all our daydreams ready to escape through doors

What was once our song, someone else sings it now
What was once our dream, in someone else's heart it lie
But what we felt then, will always remain with us  unmindful to the days passing by
The empty old classroom signifies everything
